Overview
Greigii Tulip 'Stresa'

Bold and eye-catching, Tulip 'Stresa' features bright red petals edged in golden yellow, opening into a wide star shape in sunlight. As a Greigii tulip, it also has attractive mottled, purple-streaked foliage that adds interest even before the flowers appear.

Compact and sturdy, 'Stresa' flowers early in the season, ahead of most border tulips. It suits rockeries, edging, and containers, and is reliable enough to naturalise, flowering again in following years without needing to be lifted.

Key Features
Red and Yellow Bicolour: Bold contrast that opens flat like a star
Mottled Foliage: Purple-streaked leaves typical of Greigii tulips
Early Flowering: Blooms from March to April
Compact Habit: Low growth suits rockeries, edging, and pots
Good Naturaliser: Can be left in place to flower again in following years

Gardener's Tip
Plant bulbs in autumn in well-drained soil in a sunny spot. Greigii tulips flower best in full sun, with blooms opening wide on bright days and closing in shade or dull weather.

Leave bulbs in the ground after flowering rather than lifting them each year. Greigii varieties are among the most reliable naturalisers and often improve over successive seasons.
