Nerine Bowdenii Mixed
Nerine Bowdenii Mixed - The Jewel of the Autumn Garden
Extend your garden's season with a spectacular explosion of exotic color just as the rest of the garden begins to fade.
Often known as the "Guernsey Lily," Nerine bowdenii is the gold standard for late-flowering perennials. This mixed collection offers a vibrant palette ranging from soft, sugar-spun pinks to deep, electric raspberries and silvery whites. With their unique, crimped, spider-like petals, these South African natives bring a touch of the exotic to autumn borders and containers.
-
The Final Hurrah: Flowering from September through November, Nerines provide vital color when most summer perennials have finished.
-
Exotic Appearance: The lily-like, trumpet-shaped blooms with curved petals look delicate but are surprisingly tough.
-
Deer & Rabbit Resistant: Generally ignored by garden pests, allowing them to bloom undisturbed.
-
Perfect for Pots: They thrive in tight spaces and look stunning in terracotta pots on a sunny patio.
Gardener's Tip: The "Crowded House" Rule
Don't give them too much space! Unlike many other bulbs, Nerines flower best when their roots are restricted and the bulbs are congested. They thrive on being a little "pot-bound." Once you plant them, resist the urge to move or divide them. They resent disturbance and may take a season to settle, but if left alone to form a large, tight clump, they will reward you with more and more flowers every single year.
