Overview

Miniature Daffodil ‘Tête-à-Tête Bouclé’

Daffodil ‘Tête-à-Tête Bouclé’ is a delightful miniature variety admired for its double-headed, deep yellow blooms that appear even earlier than traditional ‘Tête-à-Tête’ daffodils. The small, fully double flowers bring a burst of rich colour to the late winter garden, creating a cheerful display just when it’s needed most.

Flowering from February into early spring and growing to around 20 cm in height, this compact variety is perfect for borders, containers, and naturalising. Planted in groups, it creates a dense carpet of golden colour, making it ideal for brightening up beds, pathways, and patio displays.

Key Features

  • Double-Headed Blooms: Produces small, fully double flowers with a rich, layered appearance.

  • Early Flowering Variety: Blooms from February, earlier than standard ‘Tête-à-Tête’ daffodils.

  • Compact Growth Habit: Reaches approximately 20 cm tall, perfect for borders and containers.

  • Ideal for Mass Planting: Creates a strong visual impact when planted in groups.

  • Reliable Spring Performer: Easy to grow and dependable year after year.

Gardener’s Tip

Plant bulbs between September and December, around 8 cm deep in well-drained soil in a sunny or lightly shaded position. For the best display, plant in clusters or drifts to create a natural-looking carpet of colour in early spring.

Wear gloves when handling bulbs, as daffodil bulbs can cause skin irritation and are toxic if ingested by pets or humans. After flowering, allow the foliage to die back naturally so the bulbs can store energy for an even better display the following year.
