Gardener’s Tip

Plant bulbs between September and December, around 15 cm deep in well-drained soil in a sunny or lightly shaded position. Fritillaria prefer soil that does not become waterlogged, especially over winter.

For best results, plant bulbs on their side to prevent water collecting in the crown, which can lead to rot. Wear gloves when handling bulbs, as they may cause skin irritation and can be harmful if ingested. Once established, they will return each year, creating a striking and long-lasting garden feature.
