Flowers Seed Cosmos Bipinnatus
Franchi - Flowers Seed Cosmos Bipinnatus
Cosmos Bipinnatus Seeds: The Lacy, Long-Flowering Daisy
Cosmos is the quintessential cottage garden annual, cherished for its graceful appearance and non-stop floral display. This mix produces tall, airy plants with delicate, fern-like foliage and masses of large, open, daisy-like flowers. While colours vary, they typically include lovely shades of pink, white, crimson, and bi-colours. Cosmos are superb performers, excellent for filling gaps in borders, and their long, strong stems make them an unbeatable cut flower source. Highly attractive to bees and butterflies, they provide continuous, vibrant colour right up until the first heavy frost.

Gardener's Tip for Sturdy, Abundant Stems
To prevent tall Cosmos stems from becoming weak, spindly, and prone to flopping, pinching is essential. Sow indoors in early spring and plant out in late May/early June. When your young plant reaches about 30 cm (12 inches) high and has several sets of true leaves, use sharp snips to pinch out the central, main growing tip just above a leaf node. This action forces the plant to branch out, resulting in a bushier, sturdier plant with many more flowering stems, perfect for cutting!
