Overview

Double Daffodils – Golden Ducat

A bright and cheerful spring favourite, Double Daffodil ‘Golden Ducat’ produces fully double, rich yellow blooms that bring a warm, vibrant glow to the garden. Its layered petals create a fuller, more textured flower, making it a standout choice for borders and containers alike.

Flowering from late winter into early spring, this variety is perfect for adding early-season colour when the garden is just coming back to life. Reliable and easy to grow, it thrives in Irish conditions, returning year after year with minimal fuss.

Ideal for naturalising or planting in bold groups, ‘Golden Ducat’ offers high impact with very little maintenance.

Key Features

  • Double Flowered Variety: Full, layered blooms for a rich, textured look

  • Bright Yellow Colour: Classic spring shade that lifts any garden space

  • Early Flowering: Blooms from February into March

  • Great for Naturalising: Returns reliably each year

  • Versatile Planting: Perfect for borders, containers, and lawns

Gardener’s Tip

Plant in autumn in well-drained soil in a sunny or partially shaded position. Daffodils are low maintenance but perform best where the soil does not stay overly wet during winter.

For the best display, plant bulbs in groups rather than individually. After flowering, allow foliage to die back naturally to help the bulbs store energy for the following season. Avoid cutting leaves too early to ensure strong blooms year after year.
