Overview
Dwarf Daffodil ‘Carice’
Daffodil ‘Carice’ is a charming dwarf variety admired for its soft yellow petals paired with a slightly deeper golden centre, creating a gentle yet cheerful spring display. Its compact size and delicate colouring make it perfect for adding brightness to smaller spaces, while still delivering the classic daffodil look.
Flowering in early spring and reaching around 20–25 cm in height, ‘Carice’ is ideal for borders, containers, rockeries, and naturalising. Planted in groups, it creates a lovely carpet of colour that returns year after year with minimal effort.
Key Features
Compact Dwarf Variety: Perfect for smaller gardens, containers, and edging.
Soft Yellow Blooms: Gentle, cheerful colour with a classic daffodil form.
Early Spring Flowering: Brings colour early in the season.
Ideal for Naturalising: Spreads gradually to create a natural display over time.
Low Maintenance: Easy to grow and reliable year after year.
Gardener’s Tip
Plant bulbs between September and December, around 8 cm deep in well-drained soil in a sunny or lightly shaded position. Dwarf daffodils are perfect for container planting or edging borders, where their compact size can be fully appreciated.
For the best display, plant in clusters or drifts to create a fuller, natural look. Wear gloves when handling bulbs, as they may cause skin irritation and are toxic if ingested by pets. Allow foliage to die back naturally after flowering so bulbs can store energy for strong blooms the following season.
