Overview
Cyclamen hederifolium (Hardy Cyclamen)
Cyclamen hederifolium is a charming hardy perennial bulb loved for its delicate pink flowers and beautifully patterned, ivy-shaped foliage. Flowering in early autumn, it brings a much-needed splash of colour just as most summer plants begin to fade. The elegant, upswept petals appear before or alongside the leaves, creating a soft, natural woodland effect.
Blooming from September to October and reaching around 15 cm in height, this low-growing cyclamen is perfect for shaded borders, under trees, or naturalising in woodland-style gardens. Over time, it forms graceful drifts that return year after year, adding seasonal interest with very little maintenance.

Gardener’s Tip
Plant bulbs between September and December, around 8 cm deep in well-drained soil in a shaded or partially shaded position. Cyclamen hederifolium thrives in areas that mimic its natural habitat, such as under deciduous trees where it receives light in autumn and spring.
Wear gloves when handling bulbs, as they may cause skin irritation and are toxic if ingested by pets. Once established, these cyclamen require very little care—simply allow them to naturalise and spread for an increasingly beautiful display each year.
