Gardener's Tip for Fighting Pests
Calendula is one of the best companion plants you can add to your vegetable patch. Sow seeds directly in March to May. When planted near tomatoes, beans, or brassicas, Calendula acts as a trap crop, drawing destructive insects like aphidsaway from your vegetables. More importantly, its roots release substances that help deter nematodes (microscopic soil pests) in the soil. Plant Calendula liberally throughout your vegetable beds to boost plant health and naturally protect your crops!
