Overview
Galanthus ‘Flore Pleno’ (Double Snowdrop)
Galanthus ‘Flore Pleno’ is a charming double snowdrop admired for its delicate, layered white blooms that resemble tiny rosettes. Unlike single snowdrops, this variety produces beautifully full, double flowers that hang gracefully from slender stems, creating a soft and elegant display in the late winter garden. Its pure white colouring brings a sense of freshness and calm just as the garden begins to awaken.
Flowering from January to February and reaching around 10–15 cm in height, this early bloomer is perfect for naturalising under trees, along borders, or in shaded areas. Over time, it forms beautiful carpets of flowers that return year after year, making it a favourite for woodland-style planting.

Gardener’s Tip
Plant bulbs between September and November, around 5–7 cm deep in moist, well-drained soil in a shaded or partially shaded position. Snowdrops thrive in conditions that mimic woodland environments, particularly under deciduous trees.
For the best effect, plant in clusters or drifts and allow them to naturalise over time. Wear gloves when handling bulbs, as they may cause skin irritation and can be harmful if ingested. Avoid letting the soil dry out completely, as snowdrops prefer consistently moist conditions during their growing period.
