Cornflower Blu
Franchi - Flowers Seed Cornflower Blue
Cornflower Blue Seeds (Centaurea cyanus): The Vivid Wildflower of the Fields
The Cornflower is a beloved hardy annual, prized for its classic, vivid, true blue colour that is hard to match in the garden. Its delicate, slightly spiky blooms sit atop slender stems, creating an airy, light effect in borders and meadows. Historically a flower of cornfields, it is now an essential choice for pollinator gardens, attracting bees and butterflies with its rich nectar. Cornflowers are easy to grow, make a wonderful cut flower with a good vase life, and their reliability ensures a beautiful, effortless display of intense blue all summer long.

Gardener's Tip for an Early Start
While Cornflowers can be sown in spring (March to May), the secret to achieving the tallest, strongest plants and the earliest, most prolific flush of flowers in the UK and Ireland is to sow them in autumn (September or early October). Autumn-sown seeds will germinate and overwinter as small, hardy rosettes. When spring arrives, these established plants grow quickly and flower several weeks earlier than their spring-sown counterparts, providing an extended season of blue.
