Overview
Lily-Flowered Tulip ‘Ballade’
Tulip ‘Ballade’ is a striking lily-flowered tulip known for its elegant pointed petals and beautiful two-tone colouring. The blooms feature rich purple petals delicately edged with white, creating a refined contrast that stands out beautifully in spring borders and containers. As the flowers open, the slender petals curve outward, giving the bloom its distinctive star-like, graceful form.
Reaching around 45 cm in height, this tulip adds both colour and height to mid-to-late spring displays. Its sophisticated colouring pairs beautifully with other tulips and spring flowers, creating eye-catching combinations in garden beds and floral arrangements.

Gardener’s Tip
Plant bulbs between September and December, around 8 cm deep in well-drained soil in a sunny or lightly shaded position. Lily-flowered tulips benefit from locations that provide some shelter from strong winds, helping to protect their elegant, slender blooms.
Wear gloves when handling bulbs, as ornamental bulbs may cause skin irritation and can be harmful if ingested by pets. Allow the foliage to die back naturally after flowering so the bulb can store energy for the following season’s display.
